Our client,
a well-established financial company and a leader in international options and equity trading
, is seeking a hard-working
Java or C++ programmer with Project Management abilities
. Candidate should have a combination of good programming skills and the ability to over-see a variety of software projects and move the projects to completion.
Strong initiative and the ability work effectively in a very fast-paced environment
are essential. Ideal candidate will have
2-5 years experience which combines hands-on Java or C++ programming and Project Leadership of smaller software projects.
There is no supervision of other staff in this position.
This is an outstanding opportunity to work closely with top software engineers on state-of-the-art global e-trading systems. The company has an entrepreneurial spirit and a long record of profitability. Compensation is composed of base, substantial bonus, and profit sharing. Base salary commensurate with experience.
Requirements:
2-4 years Project Leadership or Project Management experience in a software environment
1-4 years experience programming in
Java or C++ and an in-depth understanding of object oriented programming
Experience with Unix, Linux or Solaris is mandatory
Excellent organization skills; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; detailed oriented.
No supervisory experience is necessary. This individual will work independently but will co-ordinate with multiple technology teams to complete outstanding software projects.
Experience in a fast-paced environment interacting with software and other technology teams to move projects through internal bottle-necks, or to do whatever necessary to complete stalled projects quickly.
BS or Masters in Computer Engineering, Math, Physics or similar technical field. Strong academic record with good GPA is essential to this client.
Graduates from major technology schools are of particular interest.
